Commitment to Accuracy
At Jestify.in, we are committed to publishing accurate information across all of our content. We take several steps to ensure accuracy: we investigate claims with skepticism, question assumptions, and challenge conventional wisdom.
Due Accuracy
We aim to achieve due accuracy in all outputs. This means the accuracy must be adequate and appropriate to the content, taking into account its subject and nature, and explicitly noting any constraints that may influence expectations.
Sourcing and Verification
All content must be well-sourced, based on available evidence, and corroborated. We strive to be honest and transparent about what we do not know and avoid unfounded speculation.
Plagiarism and Fact Integrity
- Our journalists never deliberately plagiarize or distort facts, context, or visual information.
- We seek independent verification from sources to confirm claims, allegations, and material facts, especially those from public officials or individuals with a potential agenda.
- Claims or content that cannot be corroborated are appropriately attributed.
Responsibility and Corrections
Jestify.in stands by the information it publishes and strives for accuracy. If proven otherwise, we update the news item or information promptly. We do not knowingly mislead audiences or distort facts. Serious factual errors are corrected quickly, clearly, and transparently.
Reporting Inaccuracies
The public has the opportunity to report inaccuracies via the “Suggest A Correction” section at the end of every published web story.
Journalist Responsibilities
- Journalists’ primary duties are reporting, writing, and fact-checking stories.
- All stories are reviewed by one or more editors.
- Jestify.in has a multi-level fact-checking process for stories that require additional diligence.
- The seniority of editors reviewing a story varies based on complexity, sensitivity, and time constraints.
Correction Procedures
Reader Submissions
If a reader notices an error, they should contact the editor-in-chief immediately.
Email: corrections@jestify.in
Subject: Correction Needed
- A correction is officially submitted only when sent directly to the editor-in-chief.
- Corrections sent to other staff may not be addressed promptly.
- Submissions should include:
- The correction needed
- Issue date or article reference
- Where the error was seen (online, print, etc.)
- Reader’s name and contact info
- Correct information and source, if applicable
The reader can expect a response from the editor-in-chief. Submission ensures investigation of the error but does not guarantee a correction will be issued.
Jestify.in Actions
- The editor-in-chief investigates the error using information from the reader, reporter notes, recordings, or other sources.
- If an error is verified, corrections are issued across all relevant platforms:
Corrections are printed in the next available issue, citing the article and incorrect information along with the correction.
Website
The online article is updated, and an editor’s note is added at the bottom explaining the correction and date of change.
Social Media
If the article was shared on social media platforms, a post will link to the corrected article and note the correction.
Once corrections are made, the editor-in-chief contacts the reader to inform them of the steps taken.
